Affiliate Summit 2006 is going to take place at Bally's Las Vegas on January 9-10, 2006.

Bingo machines

Assemblywoman Loni Hancock, D-Berkeley, has asked Attorney General Bill Lockyer to investigate the legality of electronic bingo machines at Casino San Pablo.
A spokesman for the Lytton Band of Pomo Indians, which owns the casino, said Hancock's move is an attack on the tribe's livelihood.
"Technology has blurred the line between what is Las Vegas style gambling and bingo," Hancock said in a press release Tuesday.

Casino boss tells Rod Stewart: We want our money back

A Las Vegas casino boss is demanding Rod Stewart return the $2 million (?1.6m) he was paid for a December 2000 concert he never performed.

Harrah's Entertainment head Gary Loveman took the stand in the ongoing court battle between his Nevada casino and rocker Stewart on Monday, insisting he'll happily walk away from the trial when he gets his money back.

Loveman told the Las Vegas court: "Ultimately, we're just here to get our money back. We don't wish Mr Stewart any ill will. He was paid a lot of money to do something he did not do. It's merely a contractual matter."

Casino Roulette tricks

Martin Kwang Lee, 45, of Lowry Crescent, Mitcham, and two others were arrested for "Top hatting" - a roulette scam.

The trick saw the men drop concealed chips on to winning numbers, once the roulette wheel had been spun, under cover of asking to change cash for chips.

Lee and another man were arrested in October 2003 at Gala Casino in Russell Square, where staff spotted the scam.
Police had to use the Gaming Act, a 160-year-old law, to bring the three men to court.

Win at Roulette table

A hospital worker has won a new car on a roulette machine in an amusement arcade.

Simon Fallon, of Larkin Close, Crook, is now driving a Seat Ibiza 1.4 TDI SX after hitting the jackpot on the machine at his local family entertainment centre.

Mr Fallon, 23, who works in administration at Durham University Hospital, had called in to Queenie's Casino Slots, in Crook Market Place, to visit his friend, Andrew Smith, whose family run the business.

Donald Trump's casino group, formerly known as Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts, said Mark Juliano will become its chief operating officer on Aug. 8. Juliano last week resigned as president of the Caesars Palace casino in Las Vegas, which recently became part of Harrah's Entertainment.
Juliano will take over the COO role from Scott Butera, who guided the company through its restructuring.
