Laurie Dean, an Australian casino player, has filed a suit against the Skycity Adelaide claiming he was injured due to a fall caused by a casino employee. According to Mr. Dean, the employee moved his chair while he was playing roulette and made him fell heavily backwards.
The 84-year-old retiree said in his court statement that he was constantly getting up and down of his chair at the roulette table while playing. One of the times he got up a casino assistant took his chair without telling him about it and when he tried to sit down, Mr. Dean fell and had to be taken to hospital.
At hospital, doctors found that the long-time roulette fan suffered a concussion, plus back and neck injuries. “The casino was negligent and they should have a system to ensure that chairs were not removed from their place while they are still in use,” Mr. Dean explained.
Although the casino has not answered the claim yet, it is expected to do so during next month. Casino authorities could not be reached for comments.
