For turning his back on a whirling roulette

Lesson 1: Never turn your back on a whirling roulette. Chances are, your number might come up and you might not be able to claim it. Last week, a Coventry man learned the lesson the hard way. A dispute over a “winning” number ended up in an incident.

Mario Dejfar was spending the night with a friend at the new Isle of Capri Casino at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, UK. The 33 year old man spent some time playing on different roulette tables, and claimed his number came up in one of them, winning him £175, while he had moved on to a different table.

The man returned to claim the money, but “they had given my money to somebody else”, he said. Casino staff disagreed, saying he didn’t win. After swearing, the man
was asked to watch his language. “I was then grabbed from behind. I didn't realize it was a security guard and started to struggle”, he explained.

“All of a sudden about 15 people were on me,” he continued. Dejfar was kicked out of the casino and now claims his injuries required hospital treatment. He said he reported the incident to the police.
